Technology Practice Tests (TPTs) are now available in Kite Student Portal! TPTs are not scored and have public logins that students, teachers, technology coordinators, and parents can use freely to learn how to use Kite Student Portal to take assessments. TPTs provide practice on simple questions, successful manipulation of each question type, and build familiarity with different tools. TPTs include question instructions, video demonstrations, and pop-up coaching messages to help students navigate the item successfully. TPTs display in English and Spanish, with and without accommodations. While English versions of these tests are available now, Spanish versions will be available at a later date. For usernames and passwords to access TPTs in Kite Student Portal, please use the NM-ASR Kite Practice Test Guide.
Subject Practice Tests (SPTs) are also available for English, with Spanish practice tests available by Monday, February 26. SPTs are scored and have unique logins for each student SPTs focus on more complex science-oriented questions that have the depth and rigor required for success on the summative assessment. Most questions are machine scored, but each SPT has one open-ended question that can be viewed and scored by teachers. SPTs can only be accessed from the SP application, they cannot be taken in a browser. All students that have been rostered in Kite Educator Portal will be assigned an SPT for their grade level and will receive the English or Spanish version based on their PNP Profile setting. Paper-Based SPTs will be available for download in the Help section of Kite Educator Portal. For more information about accessing and using SPTs, please use the NM-ASR Kite Practice Test Guide.
